Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is a significant viral infection of the central nervous system by the TBE virus (TBEV), which belongs to the flavivirus group and is transmitted by tick bites or (rarely) by unpasteurized milk. It causes a broad spectrum of subclinical to severe infections, including meningitis, meningoencephalitis, encephalomyeloradiculitis and poliomyelitis-like illness [1]. We report on a patient suffering TBE complicated by a Guillain–Barré syndrome variant. …
