1.
Acute postinfectious glomerulonephritis associated with cutaneous leishmaniasis.
 
2.
It is not recommended to continue steroids in such cases due to the risk of dissemination of cutaneous leishmaniasis. Steroid treatment of the patient was gradually tapered and stopped.
 
3.
Intralesional glucantime (meglumine antimoniate) weekly with intravenous amphotericin B and cryotherapy were used in the treatment of the patient.
 
4.
Besides postinfectious glomerulonephritis, the differential diagnosis of a case with hematuria and low C3 levels includes C3 glomerulonephritis and lupus nephritis; and in cases of hematuria with normal complement levels, IgA nephropathy must be kept in mind.
