In their article, the authors [1] raise two important questions. The first concerns the actual mechanism of the pelvic floor muscle training manoeuvre (PFTM): “squeezing.” In a 1997 study in IUJ, we performed video X-ray, EMG (probe in the posterior fornix), and bladder/urethral pressure studies in 20 patients with urinary stress incontinence (USI) and 4 normal patients [2]. …
