The diagnosis of infective endocarditis is typically based on clinical presentation, positive blood cultures, and echocardiography findings. In particular, echocardiography is central to the diagnosis and management of patients with infective endocarditis.
1 If adequate echocardiographic findings cannot be observed secondary to artifacts, an alternative imaging tool should be considered.
