I read with interest the randomized clinical trial by Li et al. [1] that emphasized the importance of radiation therapy (RT) in locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) management. During the past 30 years, major advances have helped to substantially improve the prognosis of LARC patients: (i) the use of preoperative chemoRT increased locoregional control; (ii) the advent of intensity modulated RT technique allowed a better dose distribution, assuring a better adjacent normal tissues sparing; (iii) the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) assured a superior definition of local extension, especially into mesorectal fat. Consequently, the vast majority of LARC patients have a good outcome with a minimization of RT side effects. …

Keynote webinar | Spotlight on medication adherence

Live: Thursday 27th June 2024, 18:00-19:30 (CEST)

WHO estimates that half of all patients worldwide are non-adherent to their prescribed medication. The consequences of poor adherence can be catastrophic, on both the individual and population level.

Join our expert panel to discover why you need to understand the drivers of non-adherence in your patients, and how you can optimize medication adherence in your clinics to drastically improve patient outcomes.
