Dieulafoy’s lesion is a rare cause of massive gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding. Life-threatening bleeding occurs in 10% of patients with Dieulafoy’s lesion [1]. Although patients with Dieulafoy’s lesions associated with thrombocytopenia due to hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes and low platelets (HELLP) syndrome [2], myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) [3], and chronic liver disease [4] have been reported, as far as we know, the case of a patient suffering GI bleeding from Dieulafoy’s lesion with idiopathic/immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is unprecedented.
