Excerpt

We read the paper by Eshmuratov et al. [1] with interest. The authors have reported poor correlation of standard endoscopic findings with histological diagnosis of gastric atrophy in a large cohort. The sensitivity and specificity of endoscopy for diagnosis of gastric atrophy was poor at around 60%. In countries with high incidence of gastric cancer, early identification of gastric atrophy would help to tailor the surveillance needs for patients. This is particularly important in young patients and those with mild atrophy. They have concluded that the endoscopic diagnosis of atrophy was not accurate, especially in those who are less than 50 years old and with mild histological atrophy. It should be noted that the report is from a center with large experience in gastric cancer surveillance. …

Keynote webinar | Spotlight on medication adherence

Live: Thursday 27th June 2024, 18:00-19:30 (CEST)

WHO estimates that half of all patients worldwide are non-adherent to their prescribed medication. The consequences of poor adherence can be catastrophic, on both the individual and population level.

Join our expert panel to discover why you need to understand the drivers of non-adherence in your patients, and how you can optimize medication adherence in your clinics to drastically improve patient outcomes.
