Abstract

A 43-year-old woman with a postoperative low-output colocutaneous fistula in her lower abdomen was successfully treated under endoscopic control, employing the Surgisis® anal plug, a cone-shaped medical device that has been formerly designed to be easily positioned into an anal fistula. We describe the technique employed here which to our knowledge, has never been described in medical literature.
