On July 1, after 20 years as Editor-in-Chief for this journal, I will pass the editorial responsibility to Prof. Matthias Hannig. I am very happy that we found a new Editor-in-Chief who excels with both a high scientific reputation and an extensive clinical expertise, which perfectly matches with the name (Clinical Oral Investigations) and the aims of this journal. I am convinced that he will do an excellent job. Matthias was introduced as Co-Editor-in-Chief already in January 1 and is thus well prepared for the new duty. For quite some time, the journal has had far more than 1000 submissions per year and ranks under the top 25 on the ISI impact factor list. Therefore, I am happy that the journal will be in such good hands and I would like to take the opportunity to thank Matthias for his enthusiasm to carry on. Welcome on board! …
