We thank Tomoyuki Kawada for his interest in our article that examined the effects of proton-pump inhibitors (PPIs) with regard to the risk of acute lower gastrointestinal tract bleeding and the effects of their interactions with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), low-dose aspirin, clopidogrel, and warfarin with regard to the risk of lower gastrointestinal tract bleeding [1].
