Stress-only SPECT imaging has emerged as an important and viable alternative to conventional rest-stress SPECT protocols in selected patients. Advantages of stress-only imaging include improvements in patient convenience, reducing radiation exposure, increasing laboratory efficiency and cost containment. These important advances provided by stress-only acquisition protocols represent a more efficient use of SPECT technology and begs the question is it time for a change?1
