Multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) of the prostate is one of the truly “hot topics” in radiology today. Although the use of MRI to evaluate the prostate dates back over three decades [1], the extensive recent efforts of clinicians and researchers to advance the science and vet the data have now resulted in high-quality anatomic imaging and the development of functional techniques which have improved prostate cancer detection and staging. This has led to a groundswell of momentum toward acceptance of the utility of mpMRI in the care of the patient with suspected prostate cancer. …
