Malignant peritoneal cytology refers to the presence of tumor cells in the peritoneal cytologic washing sample obtained at the time of hysterectomy-based surgical staging for endometrial cancer treatment. Malignant peritoneal cytology implies that the tumor cells of endometrial cancer have spread beyond the site of anatomic tumor origin, the uterine corpus. Previously, the survival effect of malignant peritoneal cytology and the implications for adjuvant therapy were understudied in advanced endometrial cancer. …
