One of the main indications for liver transplantation in patients with end-stage liver disease is hepatitis C virus (HCV)-induced cirrhosis [

2]. Cirrhosis from any cause may give rise to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Recurrence of HCV infection in the liver allograft is almost universal and may lead to graft failure and/or cirrhosis in between 10 and 30% of cases within 5 years [

5]. Only two cases have been previously reported in the medical literature in which HCC developed in the liver allograft in the setting of recurrent HCV and cirrhosis [
