India carries a significant burden of pediatric tuberculosis (TB), accounting for 28% of all TB cases in children aged up to 14 globally [1]. Undernutrition significantly increases the risk of TB with active TB infection, resulting in significantly higher mortality in these children. The article by Singh et al. published in this issue of IJP, has addressed this critical issue by exploring the prevalence and associated risk factors for pulmonary TB (PTB) in children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) admitted in 41 nutrition rehabilitation centres (NRCs) [2]. …
