In this issue, Wu et al. [
1] address for the first time an intriguing question regarding obesity and hematologic neoplasm (multiple myeloma) and correlate a robust relationship between reducing obesity (with bariatric surgery) and decreasing multiple myeloma incidence in a robust meta-analysis with ten eligible studies and more the 2,400,000 patients with a relative risk of 0.51 and 95% confidence interval. These findings were impressive because two other publications before 2010 have not succeeded in showing that link [
