Assessment of physical activity and energy expenditure in epidemiological studies

Regular daily physical activity is an important measure in preventing cardiovascular disease, as well as certain cancers, dementia and depression. We recommend at an individual level that at least 30 min daily of moderate intensity activity is beneficial. Two questions arise immediately from this recommendation: what is moderate intensity, and how do I know that 30 min is enough? …
