Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is an autosomal recessive disease, characterized by recurrent, self-limited attacks of fever with serositis involving the peritoneum, pleura and joints. The disease is caused by mutations in the FMF gene (MEFV) located on chromosome 16. Renal involvement is one of the most important features of the disease [13]. …
