Bariatric surgery remains the most effective treatment for obesity. While recently supplanted by sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) has traditionally been the most common operative procedure and still accounts for over 190,000 (30%) of reported bariatric surgeries performed annually worldwide [
1]. During this procedure, a gastric pouch is created by dividing a small portion of the stomach from the larger remnant, and construction of an anastomosis between the pouch and the small intestine. This anatomy thereby presents a challenge to diagnosing pathology in the remnant stomach and duodenum, classically requiring surgical intervention. …
