We have read with interest the article by Kun Yu et al. [1] which reports the positive results of a critical care ultrasound goal-directed protocol (CCUGDT) vs a standard early goal-directed (EGD) therapy in septic shock. Nonetheless, we would like to make some observations on the study design and on what we perceive to be overconfidence regarding an ultrasound-based algorithm in the management of septic shock. …
