Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) remains the imaging reference standard for the diagnosis of infective endocarditis (IE). 18F-FDG PET/CT has seen emerging utility with guidelines incorporating PET/CT findings as an additional criterion to refine the provisional diagnosis of “possible” or “rejected” prosthetic valve (PV) endocarditis.1 Although not a conventional diagnostic imaging modality for native valve (NV) IE, FDG PET/CT may play a role in select cases, where ongoing concerns for IE persist. …
