Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) remains the imaging reference standard for the diagnosis of infective endocarditis (IE).
18F-FDG PET/CT has seen emerging utility with guidelines incorporating PET/CT findings as an additional criterion to refine the provisional diagnosis of “possible” or “rejected” prosthetic valve (PV) endocarditis.
