Foix–Chavany–Marie syndrome (FCMS) is a rare type of cortical pseudobulbar palsy, characterized by weakness and automatic-voluntary dissociation of the orofacial musculature [1]. Voluntary movements of orofacial and pharyngeal muscles are impaired while autonomic and reflexive functions are preserved. FCMS is most often caused by bilateral lesions in the anterior opercula, and, therefore, also referred to as opercular syndrome [2]. …
