The road to obtaining reimbursement for screening CT colonography (CTC) has been a long one, filled with both expected and unexpected obstacles. However, recent changes will finally make this life-saving screening test more available to the public. In June 2016, the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) released its final recommendation on colorectal cancer (CRC) screening. For the first time, the USPSTF included CTC on its list of recommended strategies for colorectal cancer screening in individuals aged 50–75 years. This long-awaited positive step is considered a triumph by those who have helped to develop and advocate for this less-invasive, safe, and effective option for colorectal cancer screening. Ultimately, this is a true victory for the many individuals who otherwise would remain unscreened for this preventable malignancy. …
