The world knew him as Dr. Agustin Castellanos, but he was Tino to those of us who worked with and befriended him over many years, and Doctor C to his students and hospital colleagues who respected and interacted with him in the general medical center environment. Tino passed away on August 9, 2017, at the age of 89 years. To say that he is missed by those who were his students, academic colleagues, and friends understates the impact that he had on those with whom he had contact. Tino was one of those very rare individuals who linked immediately with people he liked and respected and created bonds that were both scientifically productive and personally enduring. At the same time, he was approachable and warmly interactive with all in his day-to-day environment. …
