Obesity surgery is rising worldwide, and the majority of operated patients are women in childbearing age [
1]. As a consequence, the number of pregnant patients with a history of bariatric surgery is increasing [
2]. These patients and the fetus may experience medical complications, mainly related to malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies [
3]. However, what is more fearsome is the occurrence of surgical complications related to previous bariatric surgery. Several cases of fatal outcome for the mother and the fetus have already been reported [

5]. It is important to share such cases, to detail such complications and their management, in the effort to prevent deadly outcomes in future patients. …
