Die optimale Therapie des Oropharynxkarzinoms ist Fragestellung zahlreicher aktueller Studien. Dies liegt an der steigenden Inzidenz, insbesondere aufgrund HPV-positiver (humane Papillomviren) Tumoren mit deutlich besserer Prognose. In den Frühstadien kommen eine primäre Radio(chemo)therapie (R(C)T) sowie die Operation (OP) als Therapieverfahren in Betracht. Ein randomisierter Vergleich zwischen primär radiotherapeutischem oder chirurgischem Vorgehen bestand bislang jedoch noch nicht. Dies untersuchte die ORATOR-Studie. …
