Pulmonary arterial hypertension: risk stratification based on cardiac MRI could be better

MedNet.nl: Researchers at Amsterdam UMC have validated a new risk stratification in their own patient population. This stratification comes from the 2022 ESC/ERS guideline for pulmonary hypertension and allows physicians to estimate 1-year mortality for newly diagnosed patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension based on an MRI scan of the heart. The researchers conclude that the calculation of risk needs further refinement.
