Persistent intraperitoneal enteric or biliary fistulas are serious complications after abdominal surgery. Treatment varies depending on the location and visceral structures involved. Repeated surgical interventions, however, are associated with significant morbidity and mortality in complicated cases. We report the case of a man who developed an intraabdominal abscess and a fistulous communication between the colonic loop and the abscess after laparoscopic appendectomy and right hemicolectomy, and was treated via a percutaneous interventional radiological approach to avoid reoperation. …
