The present book on the clinical and interventional aspects of neuroangiography is focussed on the paediatric age group. It is the third volume of series of publications on vascular diseases of the brain. It contains a very well written part on the embryological and anatomical basics of cerebral vascular pathologies and discusses the differences of the various diseases in adults and children in the second part. Here, the various pathologies are illustrated and described very nicely. Next the various diseases such as Vein of Galen malformations, (dural) arteriovenous fistulae and shunts, (cerebrofacial) arteriovenous malformations, venous anomalies, thrombosis, stroke, trauma, haemangiomas; and aneurysms are described and discussed for both the cerebral and the spinal compartments. All the necessary classifications are displayed in tables and the various lesions are usually shown in high quality MR and angiography images that are frequently associated with photographies of their phenotypic appearances. The complex pathophysiological basics are frequently highlighted by instructive flow-charts or schematic drawings and artwork that highlight the most important issues related to the particular topic. This facilitates the reading and understanding of the various chapters. The book contains a recent bibliography with most of the most recent publications on the various lesions. The subject index was well organized and helps to find even rare subjects at once. …
