I read the recent article with great interest entitled “Patient-reported joint status and quality of life in sports-related ankle disorders and osteoarthritis” by Kolar et al. The authors of the study aimed to compare the patient-reported outcome measurements for the assessment of the health-related quality of life, activity level, and pain severity of the patients with several common ankle disorders. Pre-operative evaluation results for seven different pathological conditions were evaluated with a different statistical analysis method. While I believe the publication provides essential contribution to the literature, there are some methodological concerns that I would like to address which may affect the results of the study [
