We read with great interest the recent article by Mansfield et al.
1 on the impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on image-defined risk factors (IDRFs) in high-risk neuroblastoma. First, we would like to congratulate the authors for their in-depth and detailed study of the changes of IDRFs to induction chemotherapy in children with neuroblastoma, which is also our research interest. In our recent, unpublished study, induction chemotherapy did effectively improve IDRFs in neuroblastoma, as the authors pointed out. However, it would be interesting to consider the primary anatomical site or sympathetic nerve chain origin of the tumor when analyzing the effect of induction chemotherapy on IDRFs in neuroblastoma in future studies, rather than studying the changes of IDRFs to chemotherapy in general. …
