Recent translational research has demonstrated that inflammasome activation and inhibition play a crucial role across a wide spectrum of cardiovascular diseases. These include acute and recurrent pericarditis, myocarditis, acute myocardial infarction, inflammatory cardiomyopathies, as well as heart failure, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and venous thromboembolism [1]. Remarkably, this has emerged as a sort of “common final pathway,” shared by conditions with different etiologies and triggers, capable of significantly impacting acute and long-term outcomes. …
