Patients with peritoneal metastasis have limited treatment options. Cytoreductive surgery and heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC) was shown to be an effective surgical treatment option for the management of these patients.1,2 One underreported complication of CRS/HIPEC is bowel obstruction, which can be divided on the basis of etiology into adhesive/benign or malignant. The management of these patients, whether conservative or surgical, is complex. Benign obstructions may be managed according to known guidelines.3 However, the management of malignant obstructions requires a different approach. Treatment paradigms for the management of such patients are lacking owing to the paucity of data on the outcomes of surgical and conservative management of these patients. …
