Decreasing postoperative opioid-prescribing is a key strategy in combating the United States opioid epidemic.1 Using opioid-sparing regimens and non-opioid regimens (NORs) can reduce postoperative opioid-prescribing, and researchers have described the safety and efficacy of NORs after breast surgery.2,3 Despite the success of these approaches, a recent survey of U.S. breast surgeons found that relatively few respondents reported using NORs.4 Two questions emerge: Are NOR experiences from small, single-center pilot studies scalable to larger community breast surgery practices? If so, what factors may facilitate adoption of these approaches? …
