Proximal humerus fractures (PHF) are very common and a serious health problem [
1]. They are the seventh most frequent fractures in adults [
2]. Their prevalence varies from 4 to 10% of all fractures, according to several studies conducted in different populations [
3]. Their treatment is sometimes controversial and some cases may be technically challenging. The incidence rate of these fractures shows considerable variation depending on the geographical area and the year of the study [
