The discussion on the need for more standardized experimental subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) models was initiated at the 12th International Conference on Neurovascular Events after Subarachnoid Hemorrhage in Lucerne, Switzerland (July 2013) during a workshop session entitled “Animal Models for the Study of Delayed Cerebral Vasospasm (DCVS) and Early Brain Injury (EBI) after SAH”.
