Isolated anterior fracture–dislocation of the hamate bone: a case report

Fracture–dislocations of carpal bones are serious injuries that could affect wrist stability and cause functional handicap. They usually affect active patients, which makes their economic outlay important. They could be easily misdiagnosed with non-careful interpretation of radiographs. Treatment of these injuries is not well codified. Among these lesions, fracture–dislocation of the hamate bone is extremely scarce. We report a case in which, together with this lesion, the patient presented an acute compartment syndrome of the anterior loge of the forearm. We point out diagnosis and treatment difficulties. …
