Total hip arthroplasty is a successful procedure which significantly improves quality of life [1]. Although complications following surgery are relatively uncommon [2], one of the most difficult complications to deal with can be that of dislocation which can lead to loss of confidence and independence. The incidence of dislocation following primary total hip arthroplasty varies in the published literature with rates of up to 7 % reported [3]. The incidence of dislocation is higher in revision total hip arthroplasty [4]. …
