Recommendations for patient-centered imaging were developed and published by ASNC in 2012 (ref. DePuey EG, Mahmarian JJ, Miller TD, Einstein AJ, Hansen CL, Holly TA, Miller EJ, Polk DM, Wann LS. Patient-centered imaging: ASNC Preferred Practice Statement. J Nucl Cardiol 2012;19(2):185-215, DOI:10.​1007/​s12350-012-9523-z). Selection of the most appropriate test, including the radiopharmaceutical and image acquisition protocol, is encouraged for each patient. These guidelines have been designed to assure patient safety, maximize patient comfort, minimize patient radiation exposure, and optimize diagnostic accuracy and thereby minimize downstream costs. The ASNC Registry, which will be launched this year, will archive and analyze data from laboratories to assure compliance with these recommendations and to provide constructive feedback to them. …
