Patient-centered imaging: More relevant (and perhaps more elusive) than ever

10.1007/s12350-012-9523-z). Selection of the most appropriate test, including the radiopharmaceutical and image acquisition protocol, is encouraged for each patient. These guidelines have been designed to assure patient safety, maximize patient comfort, minimize patient radiation exposure, and optimize diagnostic accuracy and thereby minimize downstream costs. The ASNC Registry, which will be launched this year, will archive and analyze data from laboratories to assure compliance with these recommendations and to provide constructive feedback to them. …
