“Face of the Giant Panda” Sign and Temporal Cystic Changes in Maple Syrup Urine Disease

To the Editor: A 15-mo-old girl was brought with concern of delayed attainment of developmental milestones. She was able to walk with support, transfer objects, had stranger anxiety and babbling. She was born to a non-consanguineous couple with normal antenatal and perinatal period. There was no history of loss of acquired milestones, seizures, abnormal body movements or abnormal urine or body odor. Her family history was unremarkable. On examination, she had a developmental quotient of 50% and a small head (45.4 cm, −2 z-score). The rest of her neurological examination was unremarkable. …
