A First Reported Case of Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma of the Esophagus with Molecular Diagnosis

Liposarcoma is one of the most common soft tissue sarcomas in adults but is rarely seen in the gastrointestinal tract, especially in the esophagus. Since the first description of primary liposarcoma of the esophagus in 1983 by Mansour et al. [1], around 20 cases have been reported in the English literature. We describe herein, the first case of dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS) of the esophagus. This diagnosis was based on MDM2 and CDK4 immunoexpression and molecular analysis. …
