Nutcracker syndrome is a rare condition results from extrinsic compression of the left renal vein (LRV) between the abdominal aorta (AA) and superior mesenteric artery (SMA), and gives rise to increased pressure, therefore favoring the formation of collateral circulation and varices. This increase in pressure may be measured by estimating the gradient between LRV and ICV, which is lower than 1 mmHg under normal conditions [
