Osteoporosis in pregnancy is a rare clinical problem of unknown cause [1, 2]. Some authors believe that even pregnancy is associated with a general reduction in bone density. This would not be of sufficient magnitude to cause fractures unless the woman already had a substantial decrease in bone mass [3].
