This book consists of 558 pages and lists 148 contributors, of which all, except for one Canadian and two Israeli authors, are from the United States. In fact, 44 authors including all four editors are from Pennsylvania. This aspect may not be trivial in view of the often local or regional traditions in neurosurgical management in general, and neurosurgical ICU management in particular, reflecting a lack of consensus and/or evidence-guided treatments in many fields of acute and perioperative neurosurgery. …
