We read with interest the article by Kim et al. [1] comparing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) conspicuity using different image acquisition phases with gadoxetate sodium and an extracellular contrast agent. We concur with the challenge of accurate HCC detection in patients with decompensated liver disease and welcome new strategies to our diagnostic armory. However, their methodology raised several questions. …
