Acute spinal myelitis is an inflammatory process that affects the white or grey matter of the spinal cord, and is associated in most patients with pain and functional disorders [1]. A correct and timely definition of the aetiology is crucial for proper treatment. In this setting, the detection of unusual 18F-FDG uptake in the spinal cord during PET/CT imaging, particularly when clinical symptoms reinforce the suspicion, requires a definite differential diagnosis for acute myelitis [24]. …
