We read with interest the paper by Keelan et al. endorsed by the Fetal Heart Society concerning the current state of fetal heart disease counseling and training among pediatric cardiologists [1]. Fetal heart disease counseling requires knowledge which is not covered by any one contemporary medical specialty. Fetal cardiology covers awareness at least from Maternal–Fetal Medicine (MFM), perinatology, genetics, neonatology, pediatric cardiology, cardiac surgery, and sometimes palliative medicine. To provide comprehensive information and for optimal perinatal care, a fetal congenital heart disease (CHD) diagnosis prompts further investigations for associated anomalies. Patient counseling regarding the fetal prognosis is critical to ensuring optimal pregnancy decision-making [2]. …
