A previously healthy 8-year-old boy presented with sudden-onset chest pain followed by syncope whilst playing football. 3 week previously, there had been an episode of severe exertional chest pain without loss of consciousness. There was no family history of sudden cardiac death. Twelve-lead and ambulatory electrocardiogram (ECG) revealed no arrhythmias or evidence of ion channel disease. Ergometer exercise testing showed no ischaemia. …
