This article reports two patients aged 2.4 and 4 years with perimebrenous ventricular septal defects (VSD) closed with Amplatz devices 8 & 12 mm respectively. Both developed complete atrioventricular (AV) block; 4 and 12 months after the procedure. The first patient had a transient AV block while releasing the device but at the end of the procedure the ECG showed normal sinus rhythm, normal AV conduction, and normal QRS axis and diffuse non-specific abnormalities of ventricular repolarization. After 4 months the patient experienced syncope and complete evaluation showed paroxysmal complete AV block, though two weeks and 2 months post implantation evaluation including Holter monitoring showed no abnormalities. The Second patient was noticed at 12 months evaluation to have bradycardia and complete heart block, also this patient had a normal ECK and Holter monitoring at 1 and 6 months post VSD closure. …
