Abstract

Brachial plexopathy after clavicular fracture is a rare and sparsely reported phenomenon. The symptoms are usually delayed and caused by compression by hypertrophic callus, non-union, or a subclavian pseudoaneurysm. We describe the first reported case of near complete plexopathy with a delayed presentation. This appeared to be a result of impingement by excess callus poorly tolerated due to the reduced subclavicular space. Internal fixation of the clavicle, debridement of callus, and external neurolysis of the brachial plexus resulted in a full recovery.
